ordering a commission

We are all about the warm and fuzzies here at Little Thoughts Studio. We can illustrate your favourite café, your favourite date night spot, your wedding venue, holiday destination, or it could simply be the house you grew up in. We have produced many illustrations for all different gift ideas, all with their own personalised sentimental touches.

All illustrations are hand drawn on acid free water colour paper and will be received unframed. We will ensure that the illustration is scaled appropriately to leave plenty of room for the desired frame for your piece.

Currently, our commission Illustrations have a four week turn around from when payment is received - keep that in mind when placing an order. However, if your event is fast approaching and we can squeeze it in our schedule, we can fast track the illustration for you for an additional fee.

We will always give you an estimated completion date once we get chatting and all information is received.

Please complete the form so that we can get the ball rolling, our research begins with some help from Google Maps and Real Estate.com. If we’re close enough we always enjoy a little drive by as we always try to include as many details as possible.
It’s after this point that you will then hear from us and we will talk about the nitty gritties of your piece and the essential elements of what you wish to be included. We will become besties at the end of this whole process, with open communication from start to finish, noting down all crucial points of how, what and why this is so important to you.

There is a level of artistic license within our illustrations but rest assured we will ensure the spirit of your illustration remains.

As part of the Little Thoughts Studio service we will send you a very raw sketch before we get down to it, this is to confirm the proportions of your illustration and to check off that all the additions and/or removals are captured as you had wished.

For you watercolour fans, we do offer an additional option as part of our process where you can view a digital draft of colour blocking before we proceed to the traditional watercolour process. There is a fee for this step but is entirely optional and does account for one round of changes if required. We will always pick your brain when it comes to any particular colour schemes or any items of importance that are colour related.
